Good game could use a little refinement on the rules

I'm a game and product developer (both tabletop and digital) so I'm extra critical. The game has some good foundational mechanics and its simplicity make it a good tactile for kids who are kinesthetic learners. There are gaps in the rules or areas where the rules don't cover the situation, so we've had to tweak and create some "house rules" to address issues and areas of ambiguity. There might be some simple ways to create a bit more depth to the game and create additional play loops which could bring in more strategy without adding much complexity for young gamers.

With simple instructions, the Pixel Forts is a game for all ages, from 6 to 96! It's an engaging and fun way for kids, parents, and grandparents to enjoy time together.

Pixel Forts supports 2 to 4 players. In a two-player game, use half the board, ensuring sectors are right next to each other. The other half is out-of-bounds. For three players, utilize the hexagon-shaped side of the board.

The Pixels and Tower are made out of high quality plastic. The board is made out of C1S paper.
